The Rapchak’s family/maternity photoshoot at Indiana Dunes National Park was so windy, yet perfect! I love this beach because on most days you can see the Chicago skyline from across Lake Michigan, and it’s so beautiful.
This was my 6th session with the Rapchaks within the last few years. I’m so thankful that I get to capture their beautiful family again, this time for another milestone! They’ll be growing to a family of four, and this was the perfect way to celebrate these precious and fleeting times in their lives!
There’s a quote that I love so much: “The biggest compliment you can give your photographer is to keep inviting them back into your life.” This quote rings so true for this family that I’ve come to adore!
The Rapchak’s Windy Family/Maternity Photoshoot at Indiana Dunes National Park
It was incredibly windy and chilly, but the wind really provided a lot of movement for their photos! They braved the cold and had so much fun together. During family sessions, if there are young children present, I like to follow their lead instead of trying to direct them. That’s when you’ll get those real genuine, authentic, and candid moments together. Smiles will come naturally, and those true smiles and and interactions together make for the best photos.
Reflecting on Their Last Days as a Family of Three..
Something that I really wanted this session to reflect was them soaking in their last days as a family of three, while also being excited to welcome their second baby. The newest addition to their family will be a little brother for Urban!
I also loved their outfit choices. The neutral tones went perfect with the beach setting. Brooke’s outfits were spot on! Her first outfit was flowy which was perfect for this windy day at Indiana Dunes National Park, while her second white dress really showed off her beautiful baby bump!
Family sessions truly are so important because these are milestones and memories that you’ll want to hold onto forever. Times are fleeting, especially when you have young children. The days may feel slow but the years truly do go by fast. It was such an honor to capture this beautiful family once again. I hope to photograph them again soon, next time as a family of four!
