New Buffalo Beach is one of my all time favorite engagement photo locations, so when Shelby and Adam reached out to me for their New Buffalo engagement session, I was excited to say the least! They reside in Chicago, but they got engaged here over the summer on their dating anniversary, so they were excited to come back for their engagement session. Shelby & Adam’s New Buffalo Engagement Photos in Southwest Michigan
This was a super chilly day in November—snow hadn’t fallen yet, but it definitely felt like it could at any moment! You’d never guess how cold it actually was just by looking at Shelby and Adam, though. They looked so cozy together, wrapped up in each other, and completely in the moment. The overcast skies gave us the dreamiest soft lighting, setting the perfect mood for their New Buffalo engagement session.
We started in the sand dunes, surrounded by tall grass, before making our way down to the beach. Shelby and Adam were totally up for anything. Every prompt I gave, they made their own, bringing so much personality and fun to the shoot. And Shelby’s outfit? The cream tones, chic cropped jacket, and those boots—so cute! She looked so stylish, and her outfit blended seamlessly with the neutral tones of the beach, dunes, and Adam’s outfit.
I’m fully convinced the seagulls were paid actors for us. Just as Adam spun Shelby around, they flew overhead at the perfect moment. It was like a scene straight out of a romance movie. And, of course, we had to end their session with a celebratory champagne pop. Because what’s an engagement shoot without a little bubbly?
