It’s crazy looking back at how long I’ve known Taylor and Ryan. They were both part of the same friend group as my younger sister in high school. Years before these engagement photos at St. Patrick’s County Park, I photographed Taylor’s prom photos and Ryan’s senior pictures! They’ve spent the last several years either working or getting a master’s degree. Now here they are in full wedding planning season, which feels so full circle.
We chose St. Patrick’s County Park for their South Bend engagement photos because the fall scenery there is always so beautiful this time of year. Between the river views, changing leaves, and their earth-toned outfits, everything came together perfectly for a casual fall session. We spent the evening exploring some of the best spots throughout the park. Taylor and Ryan were complete naturals in front of the camera the entire time and just so sweet together. I can’t wait to celebrate with them for their upcoming wedding!

St. Patrick’s County Park is easily one of my favorite locations for South Bend engagement photos and family sessions. There’s just so much variety throughout the park. You have the tall trees, wooded trails, open grassy areas, river access along the St. Joseph River, and little spots like the covered bridge. It truly feels like there are endless options for backdrops without needing to travel all over town.
During the fall especially, the foliage here is so beautiful and adds the perfect amount of color to photos. Taylor and Ryan’s earth-toned outfits worked so well with the scenery. It felt exactly right for a casual fall engagement session.
