I first met Haylee when I took her branding photos a few years ago (she’s also a photographer!), so I was super excited when she reached out about capturing her Midwest engagement photos and her wedding next year! Haylee and Skyler are high school sweethearts, and their love is the sweetest thing. They have a three-legged dog, Oakley, and a cat named Barbeu, who isn’t pictured during this session. Fields and grassy areas set the tone for this session, and a family friend’s property provided just that!

We started off the session in casual outfits, which felt most like them. Oakley joined us for photos, and let me tell you, she was NOT camera shy! She was so eager to join in on Haylee and Skyler’s engagement session and had so much energy!
I’m never against your pup joining in on the fun of your engagement session. They add so much to photos just by being their happy selves, and can often times bring out many candid moments and natural laughs! So, if you’re thinking about having your furry friend join us, let this be your sign!
An Outfit Change & Exploring More of The Property With Haylee & Skyler
About midway through the session, Haylee and Skyler changed into something a little more dressy. I am completely obsessed with Haylee’s ring! Skyler had it custom made, and I’m loving the three-stone look that I have been seeing more of lately!
I also love when couples aren’t afraid to be themselves in front of the camera! Skyler and Haylee took any prompt I gave them and made it their own which gave us the cutest photos in the end. Towards the end of the session, the sun poked out through the trees, giving just the perfect glare in the photos! I had so much fun capturing Haylee and Skyler’s Midwest engagement photos, and I can’t wait for their June wedding at 5C Farms next year!
