Emily and Nick had such a beautiful wedding ceremony at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by a stunning Ritz Charles Carmel, Indiana wedding reception. I first met Emily when I photographed her graduation photos from Saint Mary’s College, and then I met Nick at their engagement session last fall. These two are some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, and you won’t want to miss their gorgeous summer wedding day—so keep scrolling!

The Details & Getting Ready For Their Indiana Wedding

We began by photographing Emily as she got into her dress, secured her veil, and put on her shoes. Emily shared such a sweet first look with her dad followed by a first look with Nick. After the first looks, they went into the adoration chapel for the priest’s blessing and prayed the rosary before the ceremony. This was such an intimate and meaningful moment for them. Nick and Emily were especially excited to be married on the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

A St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony & Portraits in Indianapolis, Indiana

After their blessing with the priest and prayers, the ceremony began. This church is absolutely beautiful, and so was their ceremony. Afterward, we captured a few portraits of them in the aisle that I’m completely obsessed with! I wanted to showcase the beauty of St. John’s, and I think we nailed it!

Portraits & Wedding Party Photos Outside of the Ritz Charles in Carmel, Indiana

Portraits outside the Ritz Charles were a must during cocktail hour. Emily and Nick selected one of the Ritz Charles ballrooms as their venue, which provided a perfect backdrop for their portraits. The bouquets by Bella Sorella Floral Design added a beautiful pop of color when paired with the bridesmaids’ dresses and the lush green grass.

An Outdoor Cocktail Hour & Indoor Wedding Reception in The Ginkgo Ballroom at Ritz Charles Carmel, Indiana Wedding Venue

Emily and Nick had a beautiful outdoor cocktail hour. The weather was perfect for this June summer day. The cake topper that they had for their cake was used at Nick’s parents’ wedding, and the champagne glasses at the cake table were passed down by Emily’s grandparents, parents, and her older sister, each used at their own weddings. Nick is incredibly sweet to Emily, and the photos from their first dance capture this perfectly!

Another fun detail about Nick and Emily’s wedding is that they are both twins! The best man and maid of honor’s speeches were extra special, as both siblings spoke from the heart about their other half (literally). Nick’s sister-in-law also happens to be a twin, so it was only right that we got a photo with all of the twins!

During the reception, guests mingled outside on the patio, enjoyed the cigar bar, or danced the night away. From beginning to end, their entire day was centered around their Catholic faith. It was such an honor to capture Emily and Nick’s ceremony and Ritz Charles Carmel, Indiana reception!
