Capturing Megan and Matt’s maternity photos in Michigan at New Buffalo Beach was such a sweet experience! This session was dreamy and intimate, complete with the most stunning sunset. Just over a year ago, I had the honor of photographing Megan and Matt’s wedding. It was so special to reconnect and document this new season of their lives. It’s always a treat when clients return, allowing me to capture their journey through life’s different milestones!

When planning their maternity session, we considered a more fall-themed location, but they ultimately chose New Buffalo Beach—and I’m so glad they did! This beach is one of my absolute favorite spots to shoot. It offers so much to work with, making it perfect for maternity sessions or any type of session. We were blessed with the most stunning sunset, and for the first part of their session, the slightly overcast skies provided a soft, diffused light which resulted in the dreamiest photos!
Outfit Changes & Cotton Candy Skies on New Buffalo Beach
After Megan and Matt changed outfits, the overcast sky turned into the most perfect cotton candy hues! Meg was initially hesitant about changing into her second outfit, but her pink cardigan paired so beautifully with the pink sky. I couldn’t help but gasp after each click of the shutter while capturing these moments—I just knew this set of images was going to be something special. I’m so pleased with how everything came together. And let me just say, parenthood looks so good on these two already!
