Maddy and Luke’s wedding at The Wooded Knot in Tippecanoe, Indiana, was nine years in the making! Their family and friends were more than happy to see them officially start their forever together after so many years. Their wedding day was a little rainy, but that didn’t stop us from getting photos outside among the greenery and trees. The overcast weather really made all of the colors pop! It was the perfect colorful summer wedding in Indiana, and I can’t wait to share more about this stunning day!
The Details, Getting Ready, and First Looks at The Wooded Knot
I always start a wedding day with flatlays and other details, and they did not disappoint. The wedding was a wildflower aesthetic all around – the florals, the invitations, Luke’s tie, Maddy’s cape veil, her reception shoes, and even Maddy’s nails. Luke also wore a watch that was gifted to him from Maddy, which was so special.
Maddy and Luke both got ready separately with their wedding parties. The Wooded Knot wedding venue offers a spacious bridal suite and groom’s suite which I loved. After getting ready, Maddy shared an emotional first look with her father and then with Luke. She and Luke also shared private vows together after their first look. The rain stopped briefly, allowing for their first look, vows, and some portraits afterwards.
Maddy & Luke’s Outdoor Portraits & Full Wedding Party Photos
After their first look and private vows, we then took advantage of the rain holding off and got some portraits of Maddy and Luke on the beautiful property at The Wooded Knot. This venue’s outdoor space is beautifully kept and offers that lush green backdrop, perfect for outdoor wedding portraits.
We then got some photos of Maddy and her bridesmaids and Luke and his groomsmen, followed by the entire wedding party together. I just loved the colorful wildflower bouquets. They added such a pop of color and complemented the overall aesthetic of the wedding, as did the groomsmen’s matching wildflower boutonnieres.
An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Under The Covered Patio at The Wooded Knot
Maddy and Luke’s outdoor wedding ceremony under the Covered Patio at The Wooded Knot was beautiful. I loved their entire setup and ceremony decorations. It was perfect regardless of the rain that they had, and the covered patio certainly made it easy to have an outdoor ceremony even with the weather. There’s nothing that a few clear umbrellas can’t fix!
An Indoor Wedding Reception at The Wooded Knot in Tippecanoe, Indiana
Maddy and Luke’s indoor wedding reception was no less beautiful than any other part of their day. Everyone knows that I love a bunch of color, so this beautiful reception and the flowers were a favorite! Local Roots Floral Design did an outstanding job!
Maddy and Luke choreographed the perfect first dance which included some spins, twirls, and dips. They also curated a reception playlist full of absolute bangers! It was a list of every song they’ve ever loved, no matter the genre, which guaranteed they would be glued to the dance floor all night. Maddy’s dad even got in on the action with his awesome dancing shoes!
They had beautiful wedding speeches and cute custom napkins and cutouts of their cats, which their guests loved! And they even had an ice cream machine, which was such a hit. Towards the end of their reception, we got some fun outdoor flash photos, they shared a private last dance, followed by their sparkler exit, which capped off a perfect wedding day!
