George and Joanna’s elopement in Indiana at Indiana Dunes National Park was so intimate and playful! These two are from Holland, Michigan and spent Memorial Day weekend down in Chicago. George proposed to Joanna on a Friday, and she obviously said yes, then they eloped the following Tuesday at Indiana Dunes! I loved how spontaneous and fun this elopement was. George found me on Instagram and from his initial inquiry, I was all in!
Walking Along The Shoreline at Indiana Dunes National Park
The beach was a perfect spot for George and Joanna’s intimate summer elopement in Indiana! The views of Lake Michigan and walking the shoreline just made this intimate elopement all the more romantic.
Joanna and George are so in love with one another, and it’s evident just by the way they look at each other. We got portraits of the two of them before their ceremony started. They are so playful together which made for such real and sweet candid images of the two!

Joanna and George decided to keep their elopement a surprise from their family and friends until they returned home. Their officiant, Kim, was the perfect addition to their elopement! She was professional, fun, and wrote the most beautiful heartfelt words for their elopement ceremony about what marriage really means.
It was truly a perfect ceremony and George and Joanna couldn’t help but get a little emotional after they said their vows to one another.

After Joanna and George’s intimate ceremony on the beach, we then got more portraits of them at Indiana Dunes National Park as husband and wife. There are several different backdrops you can achieve when you choose to have your elopement in Indiana at the dunes!
From the sandy beach, beautiful Lake Michigan, to the backdrops of beach grass and more. It was so fun to celebrate them and their elopement in Indiana! Towards the end, Joanna had an idea of taking a dip into Lake Michigan in their full attire. Of course I said yes! The outcome was so fun and we got some sweet photos as a result!
